CompTIA

Comptia was launched in 1993 with A+ first certification exam. It began as a way to standardize skills for PC technicians in a manner that showed they could work on any machine, not just a specific manufacturer's configuration. Since the beginning, CompTIA has grown to provide certifications across 4 IT series from entry-level to expert. Today, employers demand CompTIA certifications across the four areas: Core, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data and Analytics. All of these certification areas align to national standards for skills and abilities through the NICE Initiative - National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, whose mission is "...to energize, promote, and coordinate a robust community working to advance an integrated ecosystem of cybersecurity education, training and workforce development." NICE accomplishes this mission by coordinating with government, academic, and industry partners to build on existing successful programs, facilitate change, innovation, and bring leadership and vision to increase the number of skilled cybersecurity professionals helping to keep our Nation secure. Linda Montgomery, President and Founder of CWI, led the NICE Working group, Training and Certification, for three years.
